Asus to increase prices for all netbook and notebook

In such a economic climate with poor consumer sentiment, increasing prices is the last thing any consumer would expect from a reputable brand ! Nevertheless, Asustek has pulled the trigger of been the 1st to do that ! Check this out.
Based on the article, it was reported that an increase of price will take effect from 1st March 2009. So are they trying to setup a decoy in driving their sales up prior to the price increase ? Or are they trying to price themselves out from the market and finally exit from the market totally ?
Fortunately, I have bought my netbook last year, but having said that, even with the price increase from 1st March 2009, I still pay more than what it should be :(
